Como Usar “Often” — Inglês Intermediário (Part. II)

O maior problema quando se trata da palavra “often” diz respeito à QUANDO usá-la, e quando usar outras expressões semelhantes, tais como “several times”, “repeatedly” e “keep doing something”.

1. Algo que ocorre “often” ocorre “muitas vezes”, ou frequentemente:

Ex.: Lain has often been accused of being a workaholic.

2. Podemos usar palavras tais como very, quite, fairly com often.

Ex.: Despite trying to leave early I quite often get home late.

3. Embora “often” seja normalmente uma palavra que ocorre no meio, ela pode vir no final de algumas sentenças curtas ou no início de sentenças longas.

Ex.: ‘Do you use the fitness club?’ ‘Yes, I got there often’.
Ex.: Very often the days starts clear and bright, and this continues until about eleven, when the mist develops.
