Como se diz “bala perdida” em inglês?

Existe alguma maneira de se dizer em inglês “bala perdida”? Existe sim, mas resista a tentação de uma tradução literal do tipo, “lost bullet”. A maneira correta que os falantes do inglês usam para se referir à uma bala deflagrada que sai “sem rumo certo” é STRAY BULLET. Vejamos alguns exemplos para o seu uso:
